Vehicle Systems
Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems use chemical suppression systems to protect heavy off road mobile equipment or buses and transportation vehicles. Fires in these vehicles not only can damage expensive and hard to replace vehicles, but they can also be hazardous to drivers and occupants who are not immediately aware of the danger.
The extinguishing agent is a dry chemical agent that is sometimes also used in conjunction with a wet chemical agent for suppression in the engine compartment. Specialized linear heat detection systems are typically used to activate the extinguishing agent in heavy of road mobile equipment applications. Some systems used for protection of buses and other transit equipment use a methane gas sensor for detection of potential fuel leaks.
